BOO!!
I'm the master of fright, and a demon of light
and I'll scare you right out of your pants

Happy Halloween to you all! It is finally here and I am going to check the weather outside right now... Damn... it
is only mild out there. I was hoping it would have been slightly chilly out for the sake of the day! Did you change
your clocks? They were set back last night! Don't be left that hour behind!

? The Irish carved Turnips and put coals or small candles inside. They were placed outside their homes on All
Hallow's Eve to ward off evil spirits. They were also known to use potatoes and Rutabagas.
?

Words to Ponder

  • black-buried, v. - gone to Hell
  • facinorous , adj. - extremely wicked
  • scaramouch, n. - a braggart or fool
  • attercop, n. - a spider's web (from atter - poison and cop - cup)
  • slapsauce, n. - a greedy and gluttonous person
  • bumwhush, adj. - ruin, obscurity, annihilation

? Samhainophobia is fear of Halloween. Not pronounced 'Sam Hane' rather 'Sow-in'. ?

Other things that have happened on Halloween in the past:
? 1993 - River Phoenix died of a drug overdose
? 1926 - Harry Houdini dies
? 1961 - Stalin's body removed from Lenin's tomb
? 1968 - President Johnson announces bombing halt in N. Vietnam

Although the blog is short today, I will be posting it late because I am going to the Renaissance
Festival today and I am taking forever to complete this (as always.)

Happy Halloween! Have fun and check that candy before you eat it!

Oi!

allusion, n. - a casual remark.
