From the mouth of madness came reason.
Another day, another entry. The
Hump Day Rhetoric. Redundency is what I am trying to avoid here.
I do not want to repeat
the same sort of crap everyday. So, here is a pleasant twist on
things. The history of the name Lucifer will be a lovely read
for all of you.
Morning Star
Astrologers identify the planet Venus as having been known by the name Lucifer in Roman astrology before being given its current name. However, in the New Testament, Morning Star is a name figuratively given to Christ (Rev. 22:16; comp. 2 Pet. 1:19). When Christ promises that he will give the "morning star" to his faithful ones, he "promises that he will give to them himself, that he will impart to them his own glory and a share in his own royal dominion; for the star is evermore the symbol of royalty (Matt. 2:2), being therefore linked with the sceptre. All the glory of the world shall end in being the glory of the Church." So why then is it also a
reference to Satan? Perhaps having the Bible translated
over and over again has Rev 22:16 (NIV) "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star." Isa 14:12-15 (NIV) How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit. Now you can investigate for yourself. There are many different versions of the Bible, so you may form your own opinion of your findings. |

The story we have been working
on is on a different page now, so we can all see it without
having to dig for it. I am also
trying to find a way for you to directly post your addition
without having to wait for me to do it as it may take a day or
two
and at that point would cause confusion and the like.
